Ashley Thomas aka ‘Bashy’ is quickly becoming a big name in the UK music scene. He first appeared on the scene in 2007 with his track ‘Black Boys’ which caused a lot of controversy and was banned by OFCOM. A lot of people know Bashy best for the success he had with his track ‘Kidulthood to Adulthood’ which was featured in ‘Adulthood’. Bashy has just recorded a remix of Tinie Tempah’s ‘Pass Out’ and has been getting a lot of really good feedback from it.
He’s gone from being the assistant music supervisor for ‘Adulthood’ and having his song featured in it to featuring in a film himself and yet again having his track stand as the theme song. Bashy stars in the new film ‘Shank’ which is set to be a big success and it’ll be hitting the big screen on March 26.
Loick features on Bashy’s first release for 2010 ‘When the Sky Falls’ and the collab sounds really good, have a listen for yourself…
Loick has recently been signed to Sony/Columbia and his vocals really do sound good on this track. Cameos on the video include JME, Giggs, Kojo, Griminal and Adam Deacon so the track definitely has the support from other UK artists and is just hoping for the support from the rest of us.
I really like the look of the video, its been shot well and the clips from the film work really well in it too. It makes me want to go and see the film as soon as its out.
So not only is Bashy doing well on the music scene at the moment but he’s also taking off in his acting career so his time at the ‘BRIT School’ has paid off!
Other people you might recognise in ‘Shank’ are stars such as Kaya Scolardio from ‘Skins’, Adam Deacon from both ‘Kidulthood’ and ‘Adulthood’. Watch the trailer below,
Make sure you go see ‘Shank’ when its out and keep supporting ‘When the Sky Falls’- its had nearly 10000 hits on YouTube just on its first day!
